Henna Gallery: Two Tone Henna
Pattern inspired by the Turkish ceramic tiles of Mahou Bey from the 16th century |
||
One of my favorite two-toned henna stains. Creating multiple shades in the design requires several extra steps and some advanced planning but is well worth the effort. |
This check pattern has been used for thousands of years in henna and other forms of body decoration. I have seen similiar patterns painted in red on the feet of Egyptian mummies. |
Inspired by Arabic border tiles from the16th century, photo taken 5 days after the paste was removed |
Two toned henna stains are a contemporary interpretation of traditional henna patterns. The added depth creates an elegant pattern and brings it to life. |
