Hi,
A few days ago, I colored my hair with powdered henna mixed with water. My natural hair had turned almost white in front around my face, gray in the middle areas, and had retained it's honey brown area around the back above the neck.
OMG, after the treatment, the hair in front was bright orange, gradually going back to the dark brown with orange highlights at the back.
Is there ANYTHING I can do to tone this down as I have an outing in a few days?
Is it safe to color again with the same brand of henna, but something without the red tones, like an ash blond or brown? What would help? At this point, I am desperate. I am a senior and don't really want to look like a punk rocker!!!LOL!!! Help please!

Well, you people were not at all helpful! What use the forum!
9 days later, my hair is not so bad. This is probably because I left the henna on only 1 hour. I also washed it with a blue shampoo for white and grey hair - can't say definitely if that helped as I only did this in the last 4 days.
Anyway, at first to make the orange less evident, I used a wax that made the hair look slightly wet, so darker.
Other than that, I asked a few who should be "in the know" but the consensus was "nothing to be done - it would fade, or go dark brown or black."
Indeed, it is fading. Hope this helps someone.

How to counteract orange color! & How to increase highlights from Ash blonde result from Cassia
Until I learned about Drabber color I could not get the red out of using either Henna or Surya Henna. The trick is to use ash henna like Cassia. I just did my Swedish blonde friend with Cassia and although the end result matches her eyebrows she is unhappy to have ash blonde instead of swedish blonde color. The good news is the coverage was total from root to tip uniform turning formerly grey and blonde into total ash blonde. So redo with the Jamila Red & Cassia as base with Amila (Adds brown tones) and then to go deeper add indigo. It took

Alexis,
I am very sorry to have missed your post asking for help, but we were in India on a trip.
When you have hair that is white and use pure henna on it the result is the orange color.
To counter act that , we recommend using some indigo to tone it down and get a brown or black to match your natural color.
Once again, I am sorry not to have been able to answer sooner.
