Just wondered if I have to be up at 2 in the morning or if I can terp at 11 or 12. I am using Jamila 2009 with lemon juice. Also can you speed up a batch? I know it compromises the henna but can you?

YOu can add the oils at the beginning or at any time before the 12 hours .
By putting your henna in a warm place you can push it, but you have to be careful not to wait too long.....And you can heat the liquid and add it at -but this is at your own risk-you can add it too hot and kill the the paste.
The best way to have instant henna is to have some coned or bagged and ready to thaw in the freezer.
This works perfectly without any compromise in quality if you use it on the first thaw !

Well I for got about it in a 95 degree garage and terped it at 6:30am instead, do you think I ruined it? It seemed to stain very well at 2:30 after another 12 hours in the said garage. How hot is too hot for henna? I can still see the mark that the paste left after only three minutes so I guess it is okay. Other thing, I love, love, love the ageane (have another beer) dream but my husband noticed that the henna with that oil doesn't kill the itch like the one with the lavendar and geranium. Do you think the other oils have more power against the itch or is it just the henna that does the itch killing?
Thanks again for your input,

AMy,
95 degrees is pretty hot, and the henna is probably ready much sooner than 24 hours . I would be very careful about that heat index.
We rarely get over 80 here and that is a great temp for henna getting ready.
If the henna is too hot, it will be ready sooner and the stain will be of shorter duration.
So if you can, keep the henna indoors in a cooler place instead, it may take longer , but better safe than overheated cooked dead henna. And henna is used as a topical treatment for several things, and it is just the henna , not the oils that are considered "treatment"
NOt sure why he is itchy but geranium is a mosquito repellant, but lavender attracts all sorts of bugs.

Oh he is not itchy from the henna, it is stopping the itch from eczema. He just felt that the one with lavender was working better. That is good to know though because we don't like that smell much. I will find a different spot for the henna. Thanks for your help yet again.
