It is generally considered safe to apply natural red-brown henna during a pregnancy.Always consult your physician if you have any concerns. We create a special mix of henna paste just for the expectant mothers using only lemon juice and a bit of lavender for a soothing, relaxing, and safe application. Because we use only 100% natural henna derived from a plant with no added chemicals, industrial or commercially available dyes there is very little risk of allergy. Often black henna contains chemical additives which are unsafe and should never be used, this is especially important to avoid during pregnancy.

Henna for Baby Showers
Celebrations of all sorts include mehndi as it is believed to ward off evil, protect from the evil eye, and provide goodluck due to its red coloring. Henna has been incorporated into births, naming ceremonies, and birthdays for these very reasons.
Henna is traditionally applied to the belly in the 8th month of pregnancy and can provide a much needed break for the expectant mother. The henna application provides an opportunity to gather with friends and family and be pampered for an evening before the new baby arrives.
It is a fun and relaxing addition to any baby shower. Lay down, relax, and visit with your girlfriends while the cooling henna is applied to your belly.
Once the wet henna paste has dried to the touch we like to wrap it with medical tape to prevent it from smearing on clothing, bedding, or the white carpet.... Go ahead and pull your clothes back on and cuddle up under the covers. In the morning you can unwrap and check out your new decoration. |
